LAS VEGAS (AP) — Crystle Stewart of Texas has been crowned Miss USA 2008. The 26-year-old entrepreneur beat out 50 other aspiring beauty queens in a pageant televised live from Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino in Las Vegas.
Stewart edged out first runner-up Leah Laviano of Mississippi and Tiffany Andrade of New Jersey. Other finalists included Lindsey Harrington of Oklahoma, and Lauren Merola of Pennsylvania.
Monica Day from Ohio took the Miss Congeniality award, while the Miss Photogenic award went to Courtney Carroll, from Alaska.
Delegates from Florida, Indiana, Massachusetts, Missouri and Tennessee completed the Top 10.
Donny and Marie Osmond hosted the show aired on NBC, which co-owns the pageant with Donald Trump.
Stewart will represent the USA at the 2008 Miss Universe pageant in Nha Trang, Vietnam, to be held from June 15 to July 14th.
