Preview Candidates of Miss Philippines Earth 2008

The Miss Earth Philippines is a beauty pageant held annually in search of the most beautiful and environmental-friendly woman in the Philippines.

After losing the franchise to both Mutya ng Pilipinas (Beauty of the Philippines) and Miss Asia Pacific International, Carousel Productions decided to establish a beauty pageant whose cause is to "have its candidates and winners actively promote and get involved in the preservation of the environment and the protection of Mother Earth". As a result, Miss Earth Philippines and Miss Earth pageants were born in 2001.

Now on its 8th year, Miss Philippines-Earth continues to expand its coverage in every corner of the Philippines as various provinces, cities and municipalities send in their candidate. Likewise Filipino communities abroad, such as France, Germany, United Arab of Emirates and the United States of America will also join the new batch. With more participants involved, Carousel would be able to reach more people and communities involved in its environmental advocacy.

Miss Philippines-Earth 2008 will culminate on the 11th of May with the coronation of a new batch of winners who will continue the legacy of beauty and responsibility at Crowne Plaza Galleria Manila. It will be telecast on ABS CBN Channel 2 and on the different countries that carry The Filipino Channel.

The winner of Miss Earth Philippines goes on to represent her country in the Miss Earth 2008.
