Miss Universe 2009 , the 58th Beauty Universe Pageant, will be held at the Atlantis Paradise Island, in Nassau, Bahamas on August 23, 2009. Dayana Mendoza , from Venezuela, winner of Miss Universe 2008 , will crown her successor in the event.

Geethanjali Gausillia, 23, is a micro-biology research assistant and freelance television presenter from Kuala Lumpur.
Her television work experience includes hosting, script-writing and acting for selected TV programmes produced for Astro. A nature lover, Geetha also loves jungle trekking, swimming and reading Reader’s Digest.
The youngest child in her family, Geetha’s key strength is her perseverance in dealing with life’s many ups and downs. A passionate voluntary worker who spends most of her spare time helping out at physically-disabled children’s homes and young children who are afflicted with AIDS, Geetha is determined to call greater attention to the plight face by these less privileged groups.
If she is Prime Minister for a day, Geetha says her first priority will be to enhance the country’s healthcare system for the benefit of every Malaysian.
